Welcome to the most unique and diverse Patagonia trips you can do. Our tour is designed for dedicated photographers who want an unforgettable experience along the routes less traveled and possess a desire to go above and beyond what has been done before. During our time together our team of professional guides and us will immerse our small group of passionate photographers in the essence of a region like no other on Earth. Unlike so many other trips offered to this region, our goal is to facilitate for you rare access to ALL sides of the Patagonian region, and not only the iconic park images so many have come for. We want to take you to see the real, entire Patagonia, most of which is only available through unconventional means of transportation such as boats, our own private vehicles, drones and more! The undiscovered regions of Patagonia are vast, and the most hidden of them all is the Fjords.

Here lush green rainforest composed of the incredibly photogenic Coigue trees adorn the lower slopes of mountains which rise into some of the largest glacial-glad walls on the continent. The iceberg laden seas give way to the gardens of unimaginable beauty, completely hidden from the eyes of those who come here to visit only the parks.

Few boats are allowed into this region, but we have the only one specially equipped for the voyage, based out of Puerto Natales, the closest town. From this main boat, which sleeps a crew of 6 along with up to 7 clients very comfortably, you will have shore access wherever we like via zodiacs and our smaller ice boat – perfect for hiking in a region with no trails or established routes besides those we have personally maintained. Here you will be explorers. We want to show you why we find nothing more rewarding than that. Imagine trekking to a place no photographer has ever stood and making world class images – that’s our motivation for trips to this remote land. In addition to our sea voyages, we will employ other boats on the region’s largest inland lakes to reach remote refuges and hiking routes. We will also have our own vehicles throughout the trip, a rarity and great convenience in the parks.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT ON EXPEDITION?

This 21-day adventure is a special trip I will do with a small group for the purposes of exploration photography. This is the only trip on Earth that explores the icy inner-depths of the Fjords, home to the most remarkably diverse landscape in all of Patagonia, and nearly 100 miles from the nearest trails, roads or civilization. This is also still the fall colors season for Chile and much of the Fjords!

We will spend time in the Argentinian and Chilean parks, but if you desire to see explore like no other, this is the trip for you. This trip spends the most time exploring new and never before photographed areas deep in the wild as you can get. We begin our time together in El Calafate and detour over to Chalten for some great views of Fitz Roy and surrounding peaks during the first 2 nights and 3 days of our trip. At this time of year, early May, the weather historically starts getting better as well, with less wind and more clearings over the high summits. After spending our 3rd night together in Natales, near Torres Del Paine, we board our boat early in the morning.

The boat is our mothership for our voyages through twenty thousand square miles of untouched wilderness where great glaciers reach the sea, icebergs mix with the rainforest and the mossy bonsai trees are unforgettable. Here you have peaks the equal of Fitz Roy or any others in the park, but also a far more interesting and meticulously detailed landscape to explore surrounding them. It’s a good thing we will have two weeks out here to explore, because our adventures will take us hiking, boating and camping in the most remote regions in Patagonia!

During the expedition we will have our regular crew, including local guides and porters to assist us to do many hikes and even overnight camping forays. We will camp on beaches with thousands of crystal blue icebergs, see more waterfalls than you can imagine, take day- long journeys with our smaller ice boat to see glacial calvings and remote islands. You will find the most amazing rainforest environment I have ever seen right alongside these breathtaking waters and fall colors are at their peak here the first two weeks of the trip.

At the conclusion of our Fjords journey we will spend the last few days of the trip in Torres Del Paine, hopefully getting some good shots of the famous May fog in the valleys below the peaks.

What makes our Expedition trip different is the length of time spent in the fjords and the exploration involved in that. Here you will be some of the only people to ever visit many of the locations we photograph and our specialized crew are the only ones who will take you there. Each Fjords expedition is unique. Details on your specific trip will be determined based on a variety of factors leading up to the trip and even more specific information will be given out later to help you prepare for our journey.

Vestrahorn_3k.jpg
Great workshop! It was my first group photography tour, and I'm absolutely thrilled with the organization and the relaxed atmosphere within the group. Everything was perfectly prepared, the theoretical presentations, and recordings of the post-processing are excellent. I gained a lot of new skills, and I thought I already knew quite a few things. Thank you very much for a fantastic tour, and I'm sure it won't be the last!
